Charm St. Veronica
As Jesus carried the heavy cross on the way to his crucifixion, one woman in particular took great pity on him. In a brief moment of relief for Jesus, the woman gently wiped blood and sweat from Jesus’ face. It is said that a miraculous image of Jesus was left on the cloth she used. Centuries of Christian tradition honor this woman as St. Veronica - derived from the words vera icon meaning true image.
