An early follower of Saint Francis of Assisi, Clare is the foundress of an order of nuns known well as the "Poor Clares." Having heard Francis speak, Clare discovered a passion for her faith that led her to a life of poverty and piety. She soon found herself leading a group of devout women and today the Poor Clares' days are still full of prayer, sacrifice and service.
