Thomas More was a very famous English lawyer and the personal councillor to King Henry VIII during the early 1500’s. He passionately opposed the king’s vision of reformation in the Church and was beheaded for the offense. More’s ability to view conflict objectively while remaining steadfast upon the truths of the Church makes him the patron of lawyers, statesmen and politicians.
