St James Medal

Medal of Saint James the Apostle, known as Saint James the Greater to differentiate him from other St James figures.

James, son of Zebedee, was chosen by Jesus to be one of the twelve apostles, given the mission to proclaim the good news and authority to heal and cast out demons.

After spreading the Good News in Spain for many years,  James returned to Jerusalem where he was martyred for his faith by Herod, who had him decapitated in 44 AD. Saint James is known as the first Apostle to die. He is the patron saint of Spain, pilgrims, vets, furriers, tanners, Equestrians and pharmacists.
